Fattening and Slaughtering Service
Fattening Practices
Our cattle fattening corral is located in Mexico in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila at an altitude of 1.3 km. above sea level. The corral has a volume large enough to fatten 9,000 heads.
The cattle is received and arranged by class, gender, size, weight, and quality, after which they receive a series of shots to protect against diseases. We maintain a strict control of each cattle's origin, meeting all paperwork requirements from SAGARPA (Mexican authority in cattle control) in tests for brucelesosis, tuberculosis, etc. The animals receive scientifically calculated food portions until they reach the appropriate weight to be slaughtered. We have different fattening programs, depending on the target market. Some require up to 200 days of fattening.
Our corral feeds cattle from Ganadera Sierra Hermosa as well as from other sources. FYET has developed an information system which allows the company to monitor each cattle's detailed performance. This system has made it possible to operate the corral more efficiently, as well as to offer the company's clients relevant information about their cattle.
Because of all these reasons, we have been awarded a certificate from SAGARPA for "Good cattle practices".
Slaughter and Processing
Our slaughtering takes place in TIF (Federal Inspection Type) slaughterhouses through good practices. The slaughtered cattle is cooled in cold rooms for a period of 24 hours, period which is required by federal regulations.
The processing is also done in TIF packers, the majority of which are approved for exporting to Japan and Korea. We also have trained employees in strict quality control to supervise production and make sure all cuts follow specifications.
